Academic Professional Development

CQUniversity is committed to providing professional development opportunities for our academic staff that assists in building the capabilities required for future success. Some elements of the academic professional development program are offered periodically, while we also offer an occasional series of workshops and one-off seminars and provide consultations to individuals and groups on request.

  • Learning and Teaching Showcase - Information about the annual Learning and Teaching Showcase, CQUniversity's principal opportunity to focus on teaching issues, with invited speakers and local events.
  • LTERC The Learning and Teaching Education Research Centre is inclusive of all staff interested in the scholarship of learning and teaching and applied research into learning and teaching issues. A number of Special Interest Groups are hosted by the Centre.
  • Ten Top Tips (TTT) informative sheets are designed to provide practical hints and suggestions on a range of topics relevant to CQUniversity staff, including new staff, those wishing to try a new approach to teaching and learning or those wishing to refresh their knowledge and skills. NEW SHEETS NOW AVAILABLE
  • Videos of seminars, presentations and experts
  • Communities of Practice (CoPs) are about bringing together people with common interests to SHARE practices and build knowledge. CQUniversity's CoPs cover a diverse range of interests, and are cross disciplinary, cross faculty, and cross campus.
  • CQUniversity's Staff Study Support (procedures and application form) is designed to encourage personal and professional development of staff and to benefit the University as a whole.

Quality Processes

Participants in all staff development activities are invited to provide feedback about the content and presentation of the event by responding to an online survey. This feedback is used to inform the planning for future events.
