The Academic Study Centre, located centrally on the Residence grounds, is open 24 hours a day for the exclusive use of Residents. It contains a computer lab and two air-conditioned tutorial rooms which are available for individual or group study as well as organised tutorials.
The College provides a generally quiet and controlled study environment where academic support has a high priority. You will be surrounded by fellow students from whom assistance and advice can be readily obtained at any time.
Academic Tutors are resident at the College and provide complimentary study assistance and support to Residents.
They conduct subject-specific tutorials as well as general tutorials. These may cover topics such as study skills, time management, assignment writing, CV and job applications etc.
The well equipped computer lab is open 24 hours a day providing access to computers and printers as well as photocopying facilities.
All study/bedrooms are also equipped with a network broadband connection to enable access to the University’s computing services including the Internet. Wireless network is also available.
Students who live on Campus have the opportunity to apply for 1 of 4 Capricornia College Scholarships to the value of $1000 each to assist with residential fees and to win numerous academic awards.
Academic and professional contacts are fostered through community service activities as well as through formal functions.
