Stage 9: Preparing the Final Draft


The Academic Essay

If possible, wait a day or so before re-writing so that you will approach the final draft refreshed.

Unless indicated otherwise by the lecturer, your work should be word-processed. Check that the physical presentation of the essay meets the requirements set down by your lecturer.

Checklist

This checklist is for your self-evaluation before you submit your assessment task. It is important for you to appraise your work critically or proofread in light of the following questions in the checklist.

REMEMBER: The CLC can give you feedback about your referencing, spelling, grammar, punctuation and structure on your final draft. Make an appointment to see an Academic Learning Adviser or go to the 'Online submissions' button to the left of this page (10th line up). Follow the directions and your essay will be returned to you within a couple of days!
