The University Finance Division is comprised of the Financial Services Directorate and the Corporate Strategy and Planning Directorate. Together they are responsible for the University's Planning and Financial Management including Risk Management. The Division has numerous internal reporting obligations to Council and Committees and external reporting obligations to the State and Federal Governments. The Corporate Strategy and Planning Directorate is responsible for ensuring that the University has properly functioning Risk Management and Strategic Planning frameworks. The Financial Services Directorate is responsible for ensuring the University's Financial Reporting obligations are met and that the University's finance systems are operating efficiently, effectively and economically.
Mr Turner has been with CQUniversity since 2001 and has held senior positions with the University since 2003. Commencing employment with the University as its first staff internal auditor in 2001, Mr Turner has moved through the roles of Internal Audit Manager, Deputy Director of the Financial Services Division and Director of the Financial Services Division before being appointed the University Chief Financial Officer in May 2010.
Prior to working at CQUniversity Mr Turner had a broad range of experience from professional practice as an auditor, business management and financial accounting roles in various organisations.
