Accounting Planners

The following planners are to be used as a guide when enrolling in courses via CQUCentral.

Please note: that these are recommended programs of study for full-time students who will generally study four courses per term. It is possible to vary the sequence in which you complete these courses, provided you ensure you complete all courses required for your degree.

If you intend to study part-time, you should select 1-2 courses per term in your first year. In selecting these courses, please note that:

  • The Faculty has no requirements for the number of courses that you study each term - this is your decision based upon the time that you have available to commit to your study. As a guide, we suggest you assume that each course will involve on average 8-12 hours of study a week for an undergraduate student;
  • In selecting specific courses, the Faculty recommends that you select courses in your first term that you feel most comfortable with.

Students who commenced study before Term 2 2005

During the course of 2005, the Faculty undertook to redevelop a number of its undergraduate programs to meet industry and professional body requirements.

In T2 2005, changes impacted on students enrolled in the following programs:

  • CQ01 Bachelor of Business (Accounting)
  • CQ91 Bachelor of Business (Accounting)/Bachelor of Business (Information Systems)
  • CB01 Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Business (Accounting)

Students who chose to complete their program of study by the end of 2006, were able to complete their studies using the degree rules in place prior to T2 2005. This arrangement was approved by the accounting professional bodies that accredit these programs. Since this time a further extension has been given to enable students to complete in T1 2007, however no further extensions will be allowable.

STUDENTS WHO COMMENCED BEFORE TERM 2 2005 AND HAVE NOT COMPLETED MUST NOW BE FOLLOWING THE NEWER TERM 3 2006 OR THROUGHOUT 2007 PROGRAM STRUCTURE. Should you find yourself outside of this arrangement you MUST contact an advisor immediately.
