Research is, and has always been, an integral component of the Faculty’s educational program. Graduate and Undergraduate students have historically made significant contributions to our research. Faculty graduates are found throughout Australia and overseas.
The Faculty supports research at Honours, Masters and Doctoral level and all research activities are coordinated by the Associate Dean (Research & Innovation) in conjunction with the Faculty Research Committee. Research activity in the form of scholarly publications, postgraduate research supervision and Research Grants is reported through the Associate Dean (Research & Innovation) and the Dean to the Research Committee of Academic Research (ReCAB) and the Postgraduate Research Advisory Panel (PRAP).
International students intending to apply for admission to a research degree should consult the CQUniversity International page for admission details as a research higher degree candidate.
A variety of information is available at General Information about research, research grants, research students and policies, with links to CQUniversity pages providing information about services, scholarships, ethics and other useful information. The Faculty is committed to undertaking research supporting endeavours to build an internationally competitive community.
The Institute is a Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Regional Development and provides a single portal into the University's research capacity. The Institute takes a non-bricks and mortar partnership approach across all R&D providers. Under this framework the Institute partners with the three tiers of Government, Industry and the Community to undertake research on local, regional and state issues that represents international best practice. The Institute provides leadership, vision, strategy and policy advice on all matters impacting and contributing to sustainable regional development. A key objective of the ISRD is to value add and facilitate quality research outcomes in partnership with the Faculty of Arts, Humanities & Education.
The Learning and Teaching Education Research Centre (LTERC) is concerned with identifying the underpinning research required to drive the teaching and learning at CQUniversity. The kind and direction of the underpinning research is determined largely by the contextual conditions that characterise CQUniversity, namely: cultural diversity, multiple sites and multi-modal delivery techniques.
