What We Offer

Undergraduate

We offer two undergraduate programs with various specialisations:

A Bachelor of Theatre with specialisations in Musical Theatre, Drama & Technical Theatre. This program, offered on the Mackay campus of CQUniversity, requires three years of full-time or six years of part-time study to complete.

A Bachelor of Music with specialisations in Jazz & Popular. This program, offered on the Rockhampton campus of CQUniversity, requires three years of full-time or six years of part-time study to complete.

A Bachelor of Music with specialisations in Classical Piano and Classical Voice. This program, offered on the Mackay campus of CQUniversity, requires three years of full-time or six years of part-time study to complete.

A Bachelor of Music with a specialisation in Music Studies. This program, offered through distance education mode (flexible delivery), requires three years of full-time or six years of part-time study to complete.

A Bachelor of Music with specialisations in Creative Music Technologies & Contemporary. This program, offered on the Noosa campus of CQUniversity, requires two years of full-time or four years of part-time study to complete. This award is orredr in conjunction with the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE and requires prior completition of dimploma level qualifications.

Further study opportunities

Bachelor of Theatre and Bachelor of Music graduates are eligible to apply for entry into the Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching (GDLT), a postgraduate pre-service teacher education degree through CQUniversity. Entry to this degree is based on meeting the entry requirements including relevant GPA and teaching area combinations. This degree takes just one year of full-time study to complete in fast track mode. It is fully accredited through the Queensland College of Teachers. Graduates from the GDLT are eligible to apply for employment as secondary school classroom or instrumental music and performing arts teachers with Education Queensland after successful application to that employing body, which may require a competency audition in addition to an interview.
