Professional Year Programs are professional development programs that combine formal learning and workplace experience and are designed under guidelines developed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. The programs are primarily for international students who wish to gain permanent residency in Australia. Points available under the General Skilled Migration points test are only available to those who have completed a Professional Year program that has been specified by the Minister.
