The Office of Research is responsible for the provision of research training for candidates and researchers at CQUniversity. The office strives to ensure that the quality of your research experience is of the highest standard possible by the provision of current and timely training to meet the recognised needs of researchers.
The Term 2011 Research Training Calendar can be accessed by clicking here (details subject to change).
Anyone wishing to register for a research workshop is required to complete a Workshop Registration Form. Attendees will be required to provide proof of supervisor and Associate Dean (Research and Innovation) approval (as required) with the completed form prior to their registration being processed by the Office of Research.
The process for workshop registration is as follows:
Any research workshop correspondence should be directed to research-training@cqu.edu.au to ensure a quick response.
Workshop attendees are reminded of the Code of Conduct for Candidates and Staff Undertaking Training Offered by the Office of Research.
For assistance with your training enquiry please contact the Manager (Research Higher Degrees).
All candidates are encouraged to visit the Rockhampton campus to attend workshops. Candidates who do not permanently reside at the campus where the workshop is being held may be eligible for funding to assist them in attending the workshop. Funding to attend the workshop may include travel and accommodation. Travel normally includes travel by train or bus or fuel reimbursement, with accommodation supplied by the Capricorn Residential College, attached to the university. Interested participants should complete the Office of Research Travel Request form if not located in the town where the workshop is being held. Travel arrangements cannot be undertaken until the Travel Request form is complete.
The 2011 Supervisor Conference was held in November at the Rockhampton Campus of CQUniversity. For enquiries, email research-training@cqu.edu.au. To view recorded sessions of the 2011 Supervisor Conference, please click here.
The Office of Research aims to develop a range of videostreamed workshops to assist external candidates and researchers who are not able to travel to Rockhampton.
