Bachelor of Business

The Bachelor of Business (specialisation) is one of CQUniversity’s most popular and long-standing programs.  Graduates for this program are in high demand and have a high employment rate.  The success of CQUniversity’s Bachelor of Business (specialisation) lies with the consistent review and industry consultation which allows students to graduate with skills and knowledge sought after by employees.   

You will study six core business courses focusing on the essential skills required in all areas of business and you then have the opportunity to choose one area of specialisation from marketing, management, human resources management, information systems, procurement and supply, tourism or aviation.  You will also be able to study a number of elective courses that can be chosen from the business field or other areas within the university. The flexibility within this program allows you to design your study around your interests and desired career.

Program Structure

The first year of CQUniversity’s Bachelor of Business provides you with the foundations of business, a broad base of core skills that can apply to a diverse range of modern business situations.  In Year two and three of this program students have the opportunity to specialise in several key business fields which include marketing, management, human resources management, information systems, tourism, procurement and supply, or aviation.

You are required to complete a total of 24 courses (subjects) including six core courses, and 18 courses from one of these selected majors:

  • Tourism (NEW in 2012)
  • Marketing
  • Management
  • Human resources management
  • Information systems
  • Procurement and supply
  • Aviation

Professional Recognition

  • Marketing graduates may be eligible for membership with the Australian Marketing Institute and the Australian Market and Social Research Society.
  • Management graduates may be eligible for membership with the Australian Institute of Management.
  • Information systems is accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS).  Please note: the ACS accredits each campus individually; therefore students should check the current status of accreditation for newly established locations.  For enquiries concerning eligibility or membership, please refer to the ACS official website: http:\\www.acs.org.au
  • Procurement andsSupply is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).  Graduates may apply for membership with CIPS.
  • Aviation students complete all theory required to pass the Commercial Pilots theory exam (taken separately).
