If you choose to study postgraduate psychology, you will also have access to the CQUniversity Psychology Wellness Centre – a teaching and treatment centre offering professional and confidential clinical psychological services to the Central Queensland region. This centre operates as a training clinic where you will be given the opportunity to put into practice your developing clinical skills under the supervision of registered clinical psychologists.

<h1>Humanities, Psychology and Social Work</h1>
<p>A program in the area of humanities is highly flexible in that it provides students with multidisciplinary education and the opportunity to gain crucial lifelong learning and transferable generic skills, such as critical thinking and problem-solving.

<p>Psychologists study human behaviour, conduct research and provide treatment and counselling in order to reduce distress and behavioural and psychological problems, and to promote mental health. Typically, psychologists conduct academic and applied research, are involved in counselling or interviewing clients, design and implement programs to modify and improve behaviour, evaluate the efficacy of psychological treatments or programs, assess and treat psychological problems and design and administer a wide range of tests to assess and predict how people think, feel and behave. Clinical psychologists are specifically concerned with preventing, assessing, diagnosing and treating people who have psychological problems or mental illness.

<br /> Social work is about helping others cope with personal, family or other social problems individually or by developing and implementing programs to assist the community. Typically, social workers will provide counselling to people dealing with a crisis, provide clients with information about services which can assist them, work with groups to share experiences and provide support, contribute to the development of policy and government assistance programs, and analyse statistics,that contribute to reports and research problems in the community to identify possible solutions.
