Before university, I had experience in many different roles. From different types of construction, personal training on mine sites, NDIS and working for myself. These all lead me down the path of pursuing physiotherapy. I am now employed at a great clinic in Darwin working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist.

Throughout my various roles working and travelling, I formed an interest in physiotherapy, which at the time was extremely difficult to gain entry into. CQU provided a door for me to open, along with the benefit of having family nearby, which is why I chose this university. I was able to obtain a high enough GPA in the first year of a Bachelor of Allied Health to then gain entry into the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours). My journey began from there.

As a musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, my job entails seeing people from the community, be that referrals from Drs, off the street, post-surgical, athletic populations or anything in between. I assess the patient, diagnose them and then treat any ailments that befell them. For musculoskeletal disorders, I believe physiotherapy to be the best route in treatment. Physiotherapists also work in hospitals; however, this was a field I disliked; the clinical reasoning, autonomy and responsibility in a hospital are almost completely abolished compared to a private practice physio.
