Sam Raciti
Sam is the CEO of Mudth-Niyleta Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation, an Indigenous community-controlled corporation, which opened its doors in 1988. Located in Sarina, a township south of Mackay, it delivers a range of services to the Indigenous and broader non-Indigenous community, including aged care, health brokerage, education, work readiness, advocacy, traditional activities and community housing.
Sam is responsible for Mudth-Niyleta's overarching strategic and administrative management. He is also now able to share his financial and accounting knowledge with other local Indigenous organisations. He believes that encouraging professional and rigorous financial systems can help those organisations to concentrate on delivering high-quality services.
A proud Kalkadoon man, Sam's academic achievements were recognised by the NAIDOC Awards Committee, which named Sam its Mackay region Tertiary Scholar of the Year during NAIDOC Week 2013.
He also mentors Indigenous youth within his community and is an active member on several boards and public reference groups across the Mackay region.
