Michael Lane

Michael wanted to further his managerial knowledge but needed flexibility to be able to study whilst working overseas. The online study options at CQUniversity provided him with the courses and methodology he was looking for.

Since graduation, Michael has maintained his position as an Army officer in Logistics. He is responsible for managing people and resources to meet the specific needs of the Army. Throughout his career, Michael has moved through different positions, including fleet manager, logistics operations manager, officer commanding, assistant incident manager, officer career manager, international student officer and project manager.

Michael recently returned from India, where he undertook an Indian Defence Services Staff College Course (77SC) and completed a Master of Science (Defence and Strategic Studies) qualification. During his studies, Michael was awarded the Chief Instructor – Army Book Prize and the Inaugural Defence Services Staff College – Cavalier Trophy for critical thinking. He regards these awards as part of the excellent foundation he received during his studies at CQU.
