When in school, Daniel's interests were flying and math. Since there was no seamless pathway to becoming a pilot, he decided that accountancy would be a great utilisation of his skills.

Whilst studying at university, Daniel began working as a taxation accountant in a small Mackay firm. He was then presented with a financial controller role, after which he progressed to a chief financial officer position. After 13 years, Daniel was looking for a change and took up an opportunity with a superannuation provider as the regional manager. His role involves a great variation of business development and relationship building, along with education, servicing and flying the flag as a brand ambassador.

Daniel says that his degree sets the expectation that he knows how to commit to self-development and accomplishing tasks. This, coupled with his CPA accreditation, has certainly opened doors, with Daniel now being viewed as a subject matter expert and business professional.
