As a high-level competitive sportsman himself, Ben Rudd’s decision to study fitness at CQU was a no-brainer.

The 17-year-old Bundaberg man is pursuing his interests in sport and fitness so eagerly that he has already completed a Certificate II and III in Fitness at CQUniversity TAFE and found employment.

“I am interested in sports and the fitness industry and compete and train at a high level in track cycling, so it was really interesting for me to do these courses to broaden my knowledge about training,” Ben said.

“It was convenient that CQU offered this course through my school, so the experience was seamless.

“The training has been really useful and given me practical knowledge to apply to my own training for my sport but also to use in my job as a gym instructor.”

Ben currently works at YMCA Bundaberg.

“This course enabled me to get the job as gym instructor and has provided me with all of the knowledge I need to successfully work in the fitness industry,” he said.

“If you are interested in sports and physical activity then I would definitely recommend this course as it not only provides you with a certificate and qualification at the end, but it also educates you for your own benefit to use in your own training.”
