CQUniversity reaffirms its commitment to Village Festival
CQUniversity has reaffirmed its commitment to The Village Festival, signing a one-year sponsorship deal that will see the University as exclusive Education Partner of the event.
CQUniversity Associate Vice-President of the Rockhampton region Kim Harrington said the University had been a long-time supporter of the Capricorn Coast event, and was proud to continue that tradition.
“We have been sponsors of The Village Festival in some capacity for 15 years and we’re thrilled to be able to extend that partnership this year,” Ms Harrington said.
“As Education Partner, CQUniversity TAFE and higher education students will be provided with opportunities and pathways to actively participate and contribute to festival activities, providing our students with genuine and valuable hands-on experience and opportunities to forge connections within the community,” she said.
Ms Harrington said that the transition from naming right sponsor to Education Partner was a logical decision.
“It is wonderful that his sponsorship level provides us with the ability to focus on pathways for training, experience and professional development opportunities for students to be involved in a premier festival like The Village Festival,” she said.
“The Village Festival brings many economic and social benefits to the region and CQUniversity is very proud to play a role in an event that brings so much to our community.”
Chairman of The Village Festival, Danny Carr said they were “incredibly grateful for CQUniversity’s continued support as our Education Partner”.
“This sponsorship not only enhances the festival experience but also creates invaluable opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience and connect with our vibrant community,” Mr Carr said.

The 21st annual Village Festival will be held in Yeppoon from 2-11 August 2024.
