CQUniversity leaps into global top 500 universities for reputation
CQUniversity Australia has leapt into the global top 500 universities for reputation' jumping almost 150 places to 458th in the world.
The result' announced as part of the Times Higher Education (THE) Reputation Rankings' comes from the world's largest invitation-only survey of senior' published academics from across the globe.
The survey asks respondents to share their views on excellence in research and teaching within their disciplines at institutions they are familiar with.
Respondents can offer their views across several subject areas including arts and humanities' business and economics' clinical health' computer science' education' engineering' life sciences' physical sciences social sciences' and psychology.
CQUniversity ranked particularly well for both teaching and research in the areas of psychology' engineering' education' clinical health and business and economics.
CQUniversity's Vice-Chancellor and President' Professor Nick Klomp welcomed the results while also praising the University's teaching' research and professional staff.
"CQUniversity has also performed well in rankings across the board this year' including the recent Student Experience Survey' The Good Universities Guide annual rankings' the QS Stars ratings' and now the THE Reputation Rankings.

"Our teaching and research staff are truly remarkable at what they do and the way in which they collaborate with their peers across the globe.
"Not only are they innovative in their approach to learning and teaching but they are also very focused on ensuring students have a great experience; we are now recognised as having the most satisfied students in Queensland

"Our applied research focus creates impact for the communities and industries we serve' and it also informs our teaching delivery' enhancing the experience and knowledge of our students and making them some of the most employable graduates in Australia. "Our teaching and research staff should be commended for CQUniversity's tremendous showing in these rankings and the way in which their teaching and research efforts are being recognised by our global partners."
In the last three months CQUniversity increased its global ranking in the THE World University rankings; was recognised as having some of the most satisfied students in the country by Canstar Blue; and beat the national student satisfaction average by 5.4 per cent in the latest annual Student Experience Survey.
Along with this' CQUniversity has maintained its number one position nationally for social equity in the 2023 Australian Good Universities Guide (GUG) ratings' including five stars for student aligned criteria including overall experience' teaching quality' and skills development.
CQUniversity also cemented its place as a world-leading university for creating impact' ranking 83rd in the world for overall contributions to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) in the 2022 Times Higher THE Impact Rankings.
Earlier this year CQU also became the only certified social enterprise university in Australia by Social Traders' recognised for removing social' geographical and cultural barriers to careers and opportunities' through our life-changing education' training and non-traditional pathways.
