CQU to host Young Engineers School Holiday LEGO Camps
CQUniversity will host a series of Young Engineers club workshops across regional Queensland throughout the upcoming school holidays.
Designed to ignite a student's passion for science' technology' engineering' arts' and mathematics (STEAM) with the use of LEGO' students and instructors will be investigating all things heat and energy during the two-day workshops.
Students from Years 1 and 8 will combine the use of hardware' LEGO compatible building blocks and coding to explore states of matter and energy to gain a better appreciation of how STEAM powers our society.
CQUniversity Deputy Director of Online Systems and Future Proofing and Young Engineers coordinator Mr Pavle Jeric said the workshops aim to challenge and inspire students to follow an exciting career in STEAM.
"These workshops have been designed to expose students to the unique and exciting career paths they can take while teaching them transferable skills they can use in their everyday lives'" Mr Jeric explained.
"Students will leverage each other's strengths' work collaboratively to assign tasks' and present their projects as a team.
"As we continue to receive excellent feedback from students and parents' we aim to make the next series of workshops even more engaging than the previous."
