Chiro students are ready to give regional Queensland a crack
CQUniversity's Brisbane Health Clinic is partnering with Ravenshoe Medical to provide chiropractic care to Atherton Tablelands residents from 30 May to 2 June.
The community outreach program will see four final-year Master of Chiropractic students work with host physicians and provide supervised treatment to patients with limited access to allied health services.
Bookings are open to the public' with no referrals required' across all three centre locations in Ravenshoe' Herberton and Mount Garnet.
The program prepares students through valuable real-world experience with complex cases.
CQU Health Clinic Clinical Supervisor Dan Nalborczyk' Doctor Chiropractic' said that experience helps aspiring chiropractic physicians get graduate-ready.
"We are honoured to work with community groups and businesses' such as Ravenshoe Medical' to provide much needed musculoskeletal care'" he explained.
"CQUniversity clinics have integrated community outreach events into the curriculum of our senior students. Over the course of their final year' students are required to participate in events that involve the assessment and treatment of the local community.
"We hope that initiatives like this will open the door to an enduring relationship and broader cooperation with other CQU allied health programs."
