Celebrations of success at Rockhampton graduation

CQUniversity celebrated the academic achievements of 500 graduates across two Rockhampton graduation ceremonies this week (Tuesday 7 December' 2021).

Almost 170 different qualifications were awarded to the diverse group of graduands who eagerly took the first steps toward their future careers.

Amongst the 2021 cohort were fifteen Indigenous students from Law and Psychological Science to Nursing and Exercise and Sport Sciences courses' that were recognised with Cultural Sashes in celebration of their Indigenous heritage.

Research also took centre stage with five PhD graduates' including Lisa Caffery' who has plans to utilise her new qualification to improve rural and remote community health.

CQUniversity Vice-Chancellor and President Prof Nick Klomp congratulated all the graduates on their achievements despite the disruption of COVID-19 over the past two years.

He instilled upon them to carry CQUniversity's reputation as new graduates and into the future.

"At CQUni we change lives.

"Over the past several decades we have changed the lives of more than 100'000 graduates. Graduates just like you who have had a dream about their future career' and they have made it a reality through hard work and perseverance'" Prof Klomp said.

"As a newly qualified CQUniversity graduate make your mark on the world' think about how you too can change lives' both now and as you progress throughout your career."
