Why My Research is Important/Impacts

This research will provide teachers with evidence based contemporary pedagogy, practices and strategies to develop the religious literacy of their students and demonstrate the aim of the NCEC Framing Paper for Religious Education. The research will support forming of discerning and informed citizens for a "multi-religious, multi-faith, multi-cultural and post-secular society" (Hannam, et. al, 2020, p. 219). This research will assist Catholic Education systems within Australia to deliver a curriculum aligned with the NCEC Framing Paper for Religious Education. This will progress classroom practice of Religious Education teachers nationwide to embed a dialogical pedagogy to foster the development of students' religious literacy.
