Thesis Name

Client and psychologist experiences and understandings of the use of dream material in psychotherapeutic settings

Thesis Abstract

Most psychologists are likely to have at least some clients bring a dream into therapy. This research seeks to identify psychologists' and clients' understanding of the role of dreams in contemporary psychological practice.

Why my research is important/Impacts

This research will add to the body of literature focussing on the application of social-cultural theories to understanding the practice of professionals, and particularly practicing psychologists. It will identify client and psychologist perceptions of the role of dreams in contemporary clinical practice and it will inform practice guidelines aimed at improving clinical practice around the use of dream material.
