Synopsis

CQUniversity's Coastal and Marine Ecosystems Research Centre (CMERC) facilitates collaborative research projects focussed on innovative research solutions to develop Australia's blue economy and enrich communities, whilst maintaining the health of the environments upon which they are based. Physically located in the Port of Gladstone and within the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area, CMERC is ideally placed to deliver research with global impact. We welcome PhD applications from students with first class honours degrees in the following research areas: applied marine and/or coastal ecology, eco-engineering, restoration, circular economies, and marine resource sustainability (including sustainable mariculture).

For Masters by Research candidates:

  • up to $4,000 in Candidate Support Funds
  • up to $3,000 for Candidate Travel Support

For Doctoral candidates:

  • up to $6,000 in Candidate Support Funds
  • up to $4,500 for Conference Travel Support
