The impact of telehealth support on staff providing emergency care in rural and remote settings

School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Sciences

Ashlyn Sahay, Tracy Flenady

Synopsis

Telehealth is a rapidly evolving field, where technology and capability is outstripping the evidence base to changing models of care. More research needs to be done to effectively evaluate the impact of these changes, particularly in increasing access to care in rural and remote environments. The research question could be exploratory or intervention evaluation in nature. This type of project would best suit someone interested in using mixed methods, taking a pragmatic approach to undertaking the research. Applicants will not only be developing methodology skills, but also grapping complex issues and assessing policy and workforce development issues
