Methods for interrogation of optical sensors for ultra-high reading sensitivity

School of Engineering and Technology

Dr Lam Bui

Synopsis

Optical interferometry based sensors are one of the most sensitive sensors today. Due to the extreme sensitivity, they also very prone to noise and instability. This project will investigate novel signal processing method based on optical frequency comb to remove reading noise and instability and thus makes best utilization of the sensor available sensitivity.
