The program is structured to provide a range of support and career opportunities through scholarship payments, vacation work and pathways to assist in application to our graduate program.   Energy Queensland is offering 100 engineering scholarships worth $20,000 a year for students studying engineering at a Queensland university, through its Future of Energy Engineering Scholarship program. The program provides a range of support and career opportunities through scholarship payments, vacation work and pathways to assist students to apply to Energy Queensland’s graduate program.   The scholarships will be distributed across the following years of study: 2nd year students (and other years greater than second year but less than penultimate year), penultimate year students (second last year of study), and final year students.

The majority of scholarships will be awarded to students studying electrical/electronic engineering degrees.

Students studying dual/double degrees in electrical engineering are highly valued and will be viewed favourably. Examples of the types of dual degrees and majors that we believe compliment electrical engineering degrees include:

Degrees:

  • Computer & Software Systems
  • Computer Science
  • Data Science
  • Science
  • Engineering - Mechatronics
  • Engineering - Mechanical
  • Engineering - Civil/Structural
  • Information & Communications Technology
  • Information Technology
  • Mathematics
  • Technology & Innovation

Majors:

  • Computational Science
  • Computer Science
  • Computer Systems Engineering
  • Cyber Security
  • Data Science
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Electronic Systems & Internet of Things
  • Mechatronics Engineering
  • Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Machine Learning
  • Robotics
  • Software Information Systems
  • Statistics & Data Analyst
  • Applied Mathematics

Scholarships will still be offered to complimentary engineering disciplines (could be single or double) including mechatronic, mechanical, and civil / structural.

Students undertaking the University of Queensland Integrated Bachelor and Masters Degree (5 year) and the Central Queensland University Bachelor of Engineering (honours) and Diploma of Professional Practice (co-op engineering) (4.5 year) are also encouraged to apply.
