Deborah Annesley

My name is Deborah Annesley, and I am a Bachelor of Medical Science student. My heart is filled with gratitude for the opportunity of receiving the CQUniCares Student Success Scholarship – School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences.

This reward has brought a welcome relief to the struggles of prioritising needs for university, family and health. The financial support this offers me towards residential school expenses and replacing my old laptop are extremely appreciated, along with the emotional support of knowing that someone is cheering me on – thank you!

As a single mother, with three of my five children also going to university, I am encouraged by the generosity and kindness of our community. We could not get this far without the help of the village.

I know where “much is given, much is required”. This inspires me to pass the torch on and be of service to those in need in my future career as a Nutritionist.
