Chasing my dream of being an educator
Keeley Baggow

My name is Keeley Baggow and I am a Bachelor of Education (Primary) graduate and former CQUniCares BHP Indigenous Scholarship recipient.  I am the first person in my immediate family to finish year twelve and become a University student. I applied for this degree so that I could become the best version of myself and chase my dream career of being an educator.

I love being involved in my local community and cannot wait to share my experiences with other students and encourage others, especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to apply for these opportunities.

My scholarship will provide vital financial aid to myself and my family, allowing me to buy a new laptop and textbooks. It will also give my partner and me room to breathe as he will be taking leave without pay for the remainder of my three placements to look after our two very young children.

From the bottom of my heart, I cannot express my gratitude enough. This scholarship is going to help not only for me, but also my family.
