Overview
Welcome to the assessment module to complete the set of micro-credentials for 'Applied Mathematics: Concepts and Skills’.
Mathematics is used to solve many types of problems. This micro-credential will provide you with knowledge of various mathematical topics, including algebraic techniques; trigonometric functions, ratios and graphs; plane and analytical geometry; and introductory vectors and introductory calculus. This micro-credential will provide opportunities for critical self-reflection on formative assessment to improve mathematical comprehension and communication of mathematical solutions.
Students who successfully complete the set of 7 micro-credentials* developed from the unit MATH40252 Technical Mathematics for University, (which forms part of the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03), may be eligible for credit transfer, pending all other entry requirements to the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03 are being met, as automatic entry will not apply.
*Includes the following micro-credentials:
- PDC111503 Advanced Topics in Algebra
- PDC111508 Trigonometric Functions, Ratios, and Graphs
- PDC111509 Planar Geometry
- PDC111510 Vectors
- PDC111511 Introductory Calculus - Differentiation
- PDC111512 Introductory Calculus - Integration
- PDC87419 Applied Mathematics - Concepts and Skills: Assessment Module
The completion of Applied Mathematics: Concepts and Skills will prepare you for first-year tertiary mathematics in applied science and engineering.
Our micro-credentials are aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
