Overview

Are you keen to know more about trigonometric functions, ratios and graphs? What about angles in the plane, degrees and radians, the unit circle, trigonometric functions and trigonometric graphs? Not to mention how to convert between graphs and equations of sine and cosine functions? If you want to know how to apply your understanding in these areas, get started today and step up your mathematical knowledge and skills.

Mathematics is used to solve many types of problems. This online micro-credential will introduce you to a range of topics including angles in the plane, degrees and radians; the unit circle and trigonometric functions and trigonometric graphs; and sine and cosine waves.

Students who successfully complete the CQUniversity School of Access Education's Applied Mathematics: Concepts and Skills set of 7 micro-credentials, may receive a unit exemption from the equivalent CL03 Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) unit with CQUniversity.

To be eligible for this exemption, students must have completed:

  1. PDC111503 Advanced Topics in Algebra
  2. PDC111508 Trigonometric Functions, Ratios, and Graphs
  3. PDC111509 Planar Geometry
  4. PDC1115010 Vectors
  5. PDC111511 Introductory Calculus - Differentiation
  6. PDC111512 Introductory Calculus - Integration
  7. PDC87419 Applied Mathematics - Concepts and Skills: Assessment Module

This online micro-credential provides a digital badge which can be shared to your social networks and displayed in your professional portfolio.

Our micro-credentials are aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Career Opportunities

Undertaking this micro-credential enables students to meet their Continuing Professional Development obligations and industry update requirements in their profession. Upon successful completion of the micro-credential, students will be awarded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours, a Digital Badge and a Certificate of Completion.

Students who successfully complete the set of 7 micro-credentials* developed from the unit MATH40252, Technical Mathematics for University, (which forms part of the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03), may be eligible for exemption, pending all other entry requirements to the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03 are being met, as automatic entry will not apply.

*Includes the following micro-credentials:

  1. PDC111503 Advanced Topics in Algebra
  2. PDC111508 Trigonometric Functions, Ratios, and Graphs
  3. PDC111509 Planar Geometry
  4. PDC1115010 Vectors
  5. PDC111511 Introductory Calculus - Differentiation
  6. PDC111512 Introductory Calculus - Integration
