Do you need help preparing for your first step into study or work? Certificate I in Skills for Vocational Pathways (FSK10219) will provide the support you need to prepare for a pathway to employment or further vocational training of your choice.
This qualification is designed for individuals who need skills to prepare for a vocational pathway qualification or further foundation skills development. It is suitable for individuals who require:
- a pathway to employment or vocational training
- reading, writing, oral communication, learning and numeracy skills primarily aligned to the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 2
- entry level digital technology and employability skills
- education, training and employment goals
Foundation Skills Training Package qualifications may not be listed as an entry requirement for vocational qualifications.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in:
11 units of competency:
- 1 core unit and 10 elective units
Elective units must be relevant to vocational pathways and not duplicate the outcomes of already selected units.

Online Standard Course Structure
Duration:This course is typically delivered over a twenty-four (24) week period; however, as it is competency based, it may be possible for learners to complete their training sooner if they have reached the required skill level. Full time students will be required to study a minimum of 11.5 hours per week and this includes assessment preparation.

The Maraway Students Only
Duration:Depending on pre-assessment outcomes, students will undertake a number of supported units, as determined by the VET Assessor. The duration of each unit will depend on the units chosen and will range from four (4) to ten (10) weeks.

This course has no residential schools.
Requirements
As this course is a foundational qualification, students are required to undertake a pre-training assessment using the Basic Key Skills Builder bksb® to determine if the learner’s skill level is below the Australian Course Skills Framework (ACSF) level 3.
Additional language and literacy pre-assessments with a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) specialist is also required to determine eligibility for Foundation Skills funding into this course.
Fees & Scholarships
Fee for Service/ Full Fee
Fee for Service/Full Fee occurs when the full tuition fee is charged to students. This may occur when the course is not included in government subsidy program/s or the student is not eligible for a government subsidy. These students are obligated to cover the entire cost. Co-Contribution and Co-Contribution Concessional Fee
Some government subsidies, such as Certificate 3 Guarantee, will require the individual to contribute to the cost of their training through a co-contribution fee. Government subsidies are subject to eligibility.
The fee will vary based on the course chosen and the eligibility of the student for a concession rate. The co-contribution fee represents the total cost to the student for tuition. There are other costs that the student may have to pay, including but not limited to uniforms and course resources. This will vary depending on the training.
