Alumni Networks

We encourage you to join an alumni network to make new friends or reconnect with classmates. Networks can be based on location, common interest, discipline or professional pursuit.

Networks are coordinated by volunteers and are self-managed. It's a great way to get involved in the community, meet people, learn new skills and establish professional contacts. A network requires a minimum of 10 members to be established and remain active.

The types and number of activities that take place are tied to the time and resources of the network volunteers, and what the group wants to achieve. We recognise that our volunteers lead busy lives, and, while networks are self-managed and self-funded, our Alumni team provides the following support and guidance to make the representative's role as uncomplicated and, most of all, enjoyable, as possible:

  • acts as a liaison between the network and the university
  • is the point of contact for; and maintains regular communication with the network coordinators
  • coordinates regular e-communications
  • informs, orients and supports volunteers
  • provides resources, ideas and materials to volunteers for network-led activities
  • identifies speakers and/or faculty members for events when available
  • advises volunteers of Be Magazine and Mortar Board Alumni E-News deadlines to facilitate placement of announcements and news

If you are interested in starting a network, or already have, or know of a group of past students, and you would like to be more connected with your university, please contact us.

Past and present students and staff involved in journalism and public relations via Professional Communication studies are invited to participate in our Facebook group. This forum is a place to share industry news and insights, hear about opportunities in the field, and get involved with research, mentoring and other activities.

Use the Alumni LinkedIn Group to share news with fellow graduates. This group is the first to learn about new alumni benefits, helps test ideas and provides feedback to the university.

An MBA is the flagship program of a quality business school. Our MBA is now approved by the Graduate Management Association of Australia and is ranked in the top 40 MBA programs globally by the AFR Boss Ranking. Our commitment is to continue to enhance the standard of the program to retain high GMAA and AFR Boss MBA rankings and gain international accreditation through the Association of MBAs in London.

As part of our MBA program, we have established the MBA Alumni Network. We are keen to explore ways that the University can support our alumni and, in turn, how our alumni might be able to support the MBA program.

As an MBA alumnus, we value your input and advice on the type of services that we may offer to the MBA Alumni. Similarly, we are interested to establish the levels of engagement that you feel might be of assistance to the MBA program, including academic advice, guest speaking, and company linkages.

We invite you to connect with your fellow MBA alumni by joining the MBA LinkedIn Network, to share your experiences and challenges with your fellow MBA graduates.

Graduates are eligible to join or start University Clubs and Societies.

Alumni Ambassadors

Alumni Ambassadors are volunteers who serve as a point of contact in their country of residence. Ambassadors are the first to know about upcoming opportunities and events in their region and can provide advice to prospects, offerees, students, alumni and staff.

We're really proud of our ambassadors and grateful for their leadership and participation. If you would like to be an Ambassador in your city, region or country, please contact the alumni team today.
