Alexandria Struthers

I took six months off after finishing year 12 and then did six months of study at another university before transferring to CQU. I chose CQU because of the variety of courses and subjects available that interested me. It also had the flexibility of studying online which suited my life situation.

Since graduating in 2019, I started working at a digital marketing agency in 2020 during the middle of COVID-19. I was initially employed as a website designer, but as the need for social media marketing increased, the job role changed. I helped my company develop strategies for effectively creating content for social media platforms including organic posting and advertising to offer more services to clients. We became the one-stop shop for all digital marketing needs including, logo design, website design, social media marketing, Google Ads and graphic design. With my background and skills in video and animation, I was able to create video and animation content for clients, which the agency could not previously provide. My job offers a wide variety of project types and clients which has given me many opportunities to grow in skills and confidence in client management.

My degree helped me develop problem-solving skills and know where to find resources. It gave me a number of skills that I now use on my job and continue to grow including time management, communication, researching and design fundamentals.
