Susan Scarr

I have a Bachelor of Professional Communication and a Bachelor of Health Communication from CQU. I was working in roles that promoted health through education and awareness when I felt that I needed to formalise my qualifications and take my work to a higher level. I chose CQUniversity because it offered the programs I wanted to study and had great support services and campuses I could access while living in regional Queensland.

My current role as a Population Health and Health Communications Officer focuses on developing, coordinating, delivering and communicating high quality, evidence-based prevention and health promoting activities within my local communities. I apply the use of population health and community demographic data to develop activity plans with clear evaluation methods and measurable outcomes along with clear health communication and social marketing strategies. My degrees have helped me advance through my career and have led to interesting and challenging roles. Without my health promotion and professional communication degrees I would not have the tailored role I have now that is aligned to my academic studies.
