The Covid-19 pandemic gave me a unique opportunity to undertake post-graduate studies, as I found myself unemployed with a lot of time on my hands. Since undertaking my undergraduate degree in Tourism and Hotel Management, I have always had an interest in sustainability, so I studied the Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Tourism Management at CQU, which I completed with Distinction. Since then, I went on to work for the peak tourism body in Queensland, The Queensland Tourism Industry Council; and then for EarthCheck, the world's leading scientific certification, benchmarking and advisory body for sustainable travel and tourism. This role also led me to be approached to be an assistant judge for the Queensland Tourism Awards.

I have since begun a new role as a Sustainability Officer within Corporate Travel Management (CTM), one of the world's leading corporate travel organisations. In this role, I support the Head of Sustainability to manage client sustainability programs, as well as preparing reporting for sustainability and modern slavery purposes, among other tasks. I am very pleased with my career progression to this stage!
