Samantha Scandlyn

While studying at CQUniversity, my career saw significant growth. In 2019, I was honoured with the TAFE Queensland North Employee of the Year award, a testament to my dedication and hard work. Shortly after, I transitioned into a senior role at Townsville City Council, where I further developed my leadership and management skills. As I continued my studies, I moved to the Port of Townsville as the Manager of Procurement and Contracts. This role has allowed me to lead a dynamic team and oversee critical procurement and contracting projects that contribute to the organisation’s success.

I graduated with a Graduate Certificate in August 2023 and then completed my Graduate Diploma of Business Administration (Leadership) in July 2024, as part of my MBA journey. I am currently working on my capstone project, which is the final step in completing my MBA. The education I’ve received at CQUniversity has been pivotal in equipping me with the tools and knowledge to excel in these roles and make a meaningful impact in each organisation I’ve been a part of. Looking ahead, I am excited to continue progressing my career further. With the foundation I’ve built through my experiences and education, I am confident in my ability to achieve my future aspirations and take on new challenges in the field of procurement and contracts management.
