After completing her bachelor degree in psychology at a different university, Naomi felt exhausted and broke. However, to pursue a career as a psychologist, she was required to complete an Honours year. She chose CQUniversity as it offered flexible options and was supportive of those who wished to work and study simultaneously.

Studying with CQU allowed Naomi to maintain a work-study balance with encouragement to still reach high marks and expectations. She was provided with the opportunity to engage in learning in a way that has now aided her in establishing her current work-life balance.

After finishing her Honours year, Naomi was employed by Queensland Corrective Services as a psychologist. After several years, she obtained employment with Queensland Health as a psychologist. As part of a specialised forensic team, Naomi engages in forensic risk assessment and treatment and works with children and youth with concerns for their mental health and substance use.
