Tak Keung (Derek) Chan

Derek completed his accounting degree and Australian CPA qualification after transferring to Australia for work. He says his study experience was "a wonderful continuing study environment". During his career he has served Big Four global accounting firms as a Partner/Director since 1998 as a specialist in corporate finance.

Most recently, he joined EY as the Partner, Transaction Advisory Services, responsible for driving client relationships of large China accounts with domestic and overseas deals as part of a China Overseas Investment Network (COIN) focus.

Before working in EY, he was a Partner of Plateau Private Equity Fund, which is one of the largest local private equity funds in China. He was responsible for deal origination and project management, including successfully closing a 2bn equity investment of AVIC, a first tier state-owned entity in 2013.

Derek won the prestigious CPA Australia Award for Banking and Finance in the Australia China Alumni Awards in 2013.
