Selina Tomasich
Selina is founder and chief executive officer of award-winning non-profit organisation “Hair Aid”. Hair Aid manages teams of volunteers to deliver hairdressing training to people living in impoverished circumstances in multiple international locations, including the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia. The training provides vital skills to people to enable to them earn a living and improve their quality of life.
Alongside these international projects, Hair Aid also runs “Hair Aid Community Cuts” (HACCs). Working in over forty communities around Australia, volunteer hairdressers travel to various locations every six weeks to provide free haircuts to people who cannot afford them.
Selina, who also has a career in higher education, never finished high school, but said studying online with CQUniversity helped provide her with the knowledge and confidence to create Hair Aid.
