Hydrogen has been around for centuries, but today, it’s now being harnessed in new ways to create more sustainable communities. From fuelling heavy transport and aircraft to blending gas for cleaner energy and even propelling rockets into space—hydrogen has many uses.

​Step inside our interactive community hub, packed with hands-on activities. Explore the local hydrogen industry in an immersive theatre, discover hydrogen’s many uses and learn about the career pathways emerging in this new industry. It’s also a place where the community and industry connect—so whether you’re a curious community member, a student or an industry professional, there’s something here for you!

We welcome school groups to visit Hydrogen Central. 

The H2 Learning Hub provides curriculum-based resources to support your visit, including information required to register your visit and support school permissions.

An Emerging Industry Building on Generations of Knowledge​

This artwork is a representation and acknowledgement to the traditional custodians of the Gladstone region. The artwork displays strong connections to country, energy, water, wind and sun. The artwork "Hydrogen Central" displays the process of how a fuel cell uses the energy of hydrogen to produce electricity.

Hydrogen Central is located at CQUniversity Gladstone, 43 Bryan Jordan Drive, Callemondah Queensland 4680.

We are in Building 3 – Leo Zussino Building.

Free parking is nearby. Refer to the CQUniversity Gladstone Marina campus map.
