What is the Music Theatre Winter School?
CQCM's Music Theatre Winter School offers performers the opportunity to hone their theatre skills in an intensive, one week program, under the guidance of a professional music theatre director and award-winning staff from Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music.

Maureen Bowra is a Brisbane-based Musical Theatre performer/director/choreographer. Maureen has a strong background in Children's theatre and has travelled all over Queensland with school shows.
About 'Xanadu JR'
It’s 1980 and the magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, as he strives to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time - the first roller disco! But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation and chaos abounds.
When will it run?
CQCM's Winter School workshops will be scheduled throughout the day (Monday to Friday) from 10am to 4pm. You can choose to audition for solo parts, or just be part of the fun in the ensemble. Learn and perform songs and dances from this iconic production.
CQCM's Winter school will return 1st - 5th July 2024, with a concert on Friday 5th July, 7pm.
Suitable for: High school students aged 12 - 18 years
Cost: $295 per student
The Winter School concert is open to the public and will feature the participating students.
