General Fee Information for International Students
CQUniversity's fees for international students are listed in the fees section of each course page on our website. Here's some general information you need to know:
- Fees vary depending on your course and unit selection.
- You may be eligible for the International Merit Scholarship of up to 25% of your total course fee, if you meet all the terms and conditions.
- The same course fees apply if you study at a CQU's campus or online.Â
- As an international student, you are not eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place.
Quality Education at an Affordable Rate
Our affordable course fees do not compromise the quality of education we provide or our graduate outcomes. In fact, CQU graduates find employment fast and earn more than the national average (QILT ComparED 2023).
Our affordable quality is further strengthened by the recent ISB survey result for value for money.
In the 2023 International Student Barometer, our students have told us they felt their current course is good value for money, placing us above both the global and Australian university average for this aspect of their student experience.
International Course and Fee Summary
As an international student, you will enrol in your course as a full fee-paying student. Tuition fees vary depending on the course and units you study. For the full list of international course fees, please refer to our International Courses and Fees 2025.
The CQU Fee Advantage
Our course fees set us apart from other universities. Findings from Studymove show that both our average undergraduate and postgraduate course fees are approximately 6% and 12% respectively more affordable than the average course fees of other Australian universities.

CQUniversity-funded International Merit Scholarship is valued between 15% to 25% of your course tuition fee depending on your previous academic performance or English Language Proficiency. This reduction in fee will help lessen some financial pressure. Below is an example of the cumulative savings for a two-year postgraduate course if you were awarded a 25% scholarship.
Imagine what you can do with these savings. Go on a holiday? Buy a car? Whatever it may be, if you're looking for affordable fees from a university with one of the best overall student experience and graduate employment outcomes in the country, then a CQU qualification may just be right for you.
Example postgraduate course | Year 1 | Year 2 |
---|---|---|
Estimated tuition fees (A$) | $38 000 | $38 000 |
Scholarship (25% value) | $9 500 | $9 500 |
Reduced tuition fees | $28 500 | $28 500 |
Cumulative savings | $9 500 | $19 000 |
Notes: The above is only an example and does not factor in annual indexation.Â
Other Costs
In addition to international course tuition fees, you must have sufficient funds to cover additional expenses such as textbooks, accommodation costs, Overseas Student Health Cover and general costs of living.
