CQUniversity campuses recently hosted 1300 Year 12 students at Uni Experience events held across Queensland.

Designed to inform and empower local students in navigating their post-high school journey, the one-day on-campus events were held in Rockhampton, Townsville, Gladstone, Cairns, Bundaberg and Mackay.

The Uni Experience events provided a unique opportunity for students to delve into higher education and vocational education and training (VET) options, equipping them with the knowledge and inspiration to shape their academic futures.

CQUniversity Future Students Coordinator, Karlie Williams said the events aimed to empower students by showcasing the opportunities available through higher education degrees and TAFE courses.

"Uni Experience serves as a pivotal platform for Year 12 students to explore the diverse study opportunities available at CQUniversity," Karlie said.

“By offering this immersive experience, students can make informed decisions about their future education and career."

The events offered a personalised itinerary for each student, comprising study area information sessions tailored to their interests. They had the opportunity to immerse themselves in disciplines ranging from business and healthcare to engineering and creative arts.

Participants engaged in interactive sessions led by experienced lecturers, gaining firsthand insight into various disciplines and career paths.

"With Uni Experience, we aimed to demystify the university experience and highlight the areas that may be of interest to prospective students," Karlie explained.

“It is not just about showcasing academic programs; it's about giving students a glimpse into university life and the support systems available to them.

"By facilitating direct interactions with academic staff and current students, we sought to inspire confidence and excitement about pursuing higher education."
