Dakota ready to embrace her future in HR after completing a CQU course in record time
Dakota Shanahan's confidence in her career prospects as a human resources expert have been given a significant boost thanks to CQUniversity.
"I chose to study Human Resources Management because I loved the idea of being in a role that involves working with and for other people' both behind the scenes and on front lines'" Dakota said.
The Rockhampton woman is one of the first to complete the new Certificate IV in Human Resources Management' cutting the 12-month course down to just seven thanks to her hard work and determination and the flexibility of the course.
"The course that I took was extremely flexible and efficient. I was able to complete the certificate in seven months as opposed to 12. This is also greatly accredited to a lovely' supportive teacher'" she said.
"I found that the functions of HR are highly sought after by employers as people need people skills."
Dakota' who works at a law firm said the course had improved her career opportunities.
"Having achieved this qualification' my employment prospects have expanded. I am now being considered for high-profile positions as the skills gained from the course are applicable to all workplaces and industries."
She encouraged anyone wanting to enter the HR sector to consider studying the Certificate IV in Human Resource Management.
"HR is the overarching understanding of human management' motivation' communication' cooperation' culture' support' and growth'" she said.
"Such a topic should be studied as this knowledge not only adds value to you as an employee but also provides skills that help with personal relationships' confidence' and communication.
"While I am unsure of what the next step is' I refuse to stop learning and growing. So' if that means further study then so be it."
