Dentist upskills for management roles with CQU MBA
When Sarah Agustini Reksodiputro completed her dentistry qualification in 2007 she hadn't yet realised that her medical qualification was going to open up a different career path in health and hospital management.
Sarah practised as a dentist full-time for two years after graduating before deciding to focus on roles in hospital management and completing a master's degree in the same field in 2011.
"Whilst I have continued to practice dentistry my main career focus over the past 10 years has been within management roles within the private health sector.
"In order to develop my career and management experience further I decided it would be beneficial for me to advance my knowledge by completing the Master of Management and Master of Business Administration (MBA) delivered in partnership by Universitas Bakrie and CQUniversity Australia'"
said Sarah.
"I chose this course as CQUniversity has a strong global reputation when it comes to their MBA' having recently been recognised as a top tier global provider by CEO Magazine's MBA rankings.
"Flexibility was also important to me and CQUniversity offers great additional online learning resources that help students to manage their studies in conjunction with work.
"It is also great to be studying an Australian qualification' with an Australian university' without leaving Indonesia".
Sarah also says that CQUniversity's online delivery has meant that her study progress has not been disrupted by the pandemic.
"I am very pleased with how the teaching is progressing and how lecturers have been able to adjust their teaching based on the ongoing disruptions because of COVID.
"I am confident that I will still complete my qualification at the end of this year because of the professional delivery of the program and the flexibility of teachers and support staff in the Jakarta delivery centre".
After completing her Master of Management and MBA Sarah plans to continue advancing her career in health management and will also use her new knowledge and skills to grow her recently opened dental practice.
"I wish to implement all of the things I have learned to grow my own dental business that I opened at the start of this year and also hope to continue advancing my health management career.
"The program has provided me with excellent knowledge and understanding of business and strategic planning' marketing and finance.
"I will use these skills in my role as a director at a private hospital and within my new business and believe the knowledge I now possess will make me a better leader when it comes to business strategy and decision-making'"
said Sarah.
CQUniversity opened the Jakarta Business Training Centre at the start of 2020 and delivers corporate training programs focusing on business' law' governance' and business ethics' as well as English language (ELICOS).
