Jack revs up his automotive skills with CQUniversity course

For Jack Sanderson' the decision to upskill with a Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology at CQUniversity was all about accelerating his chances at getting a new job in Rockhampton.

Jack is just weeks away from completing his studies at CQUni's Rockhampton City Campus and already he is seeing the possibilities on the road ahead

"I moved to Rockhampton from Broome in WA earlier this year'"

he said.

"I worked in Broome for several years as a trades assistant in auto electrical and heavy diesel."

He said when he moved to Rockhampton' he realised he needed to update his skills and knowledge if he wanted to secure employment' so he enrolled as a mature-age student.

"I wanted to upskill and the course has been really good'"

he said.

"Although I already know a lot about how to fix engines' it's been really good to learn the reasons behind what an automotive mechanic does through the course – it's been interesting."

Jack said he was currently seeking any opportunities for employment.
