CQUniversity signs up as MBA provider of choice for Indonesian ministry

CQUniversity has signed a historic agreement to provide its Australian MBA program to Indonesian government officials' in partnership with Universitas Bakrie.

The agreement' signed in Jakarta this week' will see CQUniversity deliver its Master of Business Administration' majoring in public-private partnerships (PPPs) and data science' to scores of high-ranking officials from Indonesia's civil service.

CQUniversity Vice-Chancellor Professor Nick Klomp' in Jakarta for the signing and talks with the Indonesian government' said he was looking forward to the first cohort beginning their studies.

"CQUniversity is excited to cement its partnership with the Indonesian Government through the provision of postgraduate programs to civil service personnel'"

Professor Klomp said.

"Public-private partnerships and data science are fast-growing industries in Indonesia' informing a range of national development projects that are critical to the Government's forward strategy.

"The delivery of this MBA program will ensure that top government officials are attuned to the most cutting-edge theory and practice in PPPs and data analytics' delivered by our foremost experts on these topics.

"Each semester' a minimum of 10 government officials will begin their studies in the program' which CQU and Bakrie will begin delivering from our Jakarta executive education centre in March 2022."

Also participating in the signing event was Executive Secretary of Ministry of National Development Planning' Dr Himawan Hariyoga' who hosted Vice-Chancellor Klomp at Bappenas (the Ministry of National Development Planning) for the occasion' and Universitas Bakrie Rektor' Professor Ir. Sofia W. Alisjahbana.

CQUniversity Jakarta's Associate Vice-Chancellor' Professor Hendrik Halim' said the agreement marked the latest milestone for the fast-growing Jakarta delivery site.

With an agreement with Bappenas now inked' CQUniversity Jakarta is also negotiating similar arrangement with other ministries' corporations and local banks' Professor Halim said.

"Our Jakarta executive education centre continues to go from strength to strength. Although the impacts of COVID-19 have been keenly felt in Indonesia' we have still been able to deliver our executive programs successfully online during this period'"

he said.

This week' CQUniversity is also finalising a A$10 million deal with Bappenas and Universitas Sam Ratulangi in Manado' known as the Triple Helix project' to establish an Institute of Sustainable Farming in North Sulawesi.

And CQUniversity remains on track to be among the first Australian universities to establish a fully-fledged university campus in Indonesia' with sights set on a presence in the North Sumatran capital of Medan – a regional city with a population roughly the size of Brisbane.

"CQUniversity is serious about its commitment to building capacity in regional communities' and improving accessibility in tertiary education' whether in Australia or in the Asia-Pacific more generally'"
