The Development of a Broadly Acceptable and Feasible Definition of Wildlife Strike and other Safety-Related Wildlife OccurrencesThesis Abstract
The broad aim of this project is to provide clarity and consistency on the definition of wildlife strikes and other wildlife-related safety occurrences within the wildlife hazard management field.
Why My Research is Important/Impacts
Wildlife hazard management is a key component of an aerodrome operator's safety management system and aerodrome certification (Civil Aviation Safety Amendment (Part 139) Regulations 2019 (Cth); CASA, 2019). This project's contribution will be realised through structured development and verification of an industry-accepted and deliverable definition for wildlife strike and other wildlife-related safety occurrences.
