The Indigenous Scholarships program is aimed at increasing the number of Indigenous Australians with tertiary and trade qualifications to enhance employment outcomes, with a specific focus in the resources sector. The Foundation provides mentoring services to support the administration of tertiary and vocational scholarships.


To be eligible to apply for the Scholarship you can either be studying full time or part time in Tertiary or Vocational training. This includes Apprenticeships, Trades, Traineeships, Diploma or Minimum Cert 3 vocational study and a preferred descendant from either of the Traditional Owner Groups as listed on the flyer.

Priority for scholarships are given to the following Traditional Owner Groups:

  • Iman
  • Mandandanji
  • Bigambul
  • Barunggam
  • Cobble Cobble
  • Jarowair
  • Western Wakka Wakka
  • Yiman
  • Bailai
  • Gurang
  • Gooreng Gooreng
  • Taribelang Bunda
  • Wulli Wulli
  • Wakka Wakka
  • Gangulu

Please be advised that successful applicants will be selected for the Shell QGC Indigenous Scholarship Program, this selection process will be very competitive and will be selected by an independent panel.
